Review the following considerations when transitioning public folders and Microsoft 365 Group mailboxes from EWS to Microsoft Graph.
Public Folders
At the time of publication, the Commvault releases covered by this guide do not yet support public folder protection through Microsoft Graph because public folders are not currently part of the Graph API.
Microsoft's roadmap includes targeted public folder import and export capability for Q4 calendar year 2026. Microsoft states that this planned capability does not include general public folder CRUD APIs, and roadmap dates remain subject to change.
If you protect public folders:

Confirm the current support status with Commvault.

Retain approved EWS access temporarily if the workload still requires it.

Evaluate migration to a solution such as SharePoint or a Group mailbox.

Do not assume Microsoft's planned API availability means immediate Commvault product support.
Microsoft 365 Group Mailboxes
Support for Microsoft 365 Group mailboxes is in early access since Microsoft Graph API support for group mailboxes is not generally available.
