Commvault Grid Appliances are shipped with HyperScale software pre-installed from the factory.
Before deploying the appliance, verify that all nodes are running the currently supported HyperScale software version.
Deploying nodes with outdated software can result in compatibility issues and may prevent successful deployment.
Verify the Installed Version
Run the following command on each node:
# cat /etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instance001/MediaAgent/.properties | grep -i image
If the Version Is Not Current
If the displayed version is earlier than the currently supported version, re-image the appliance using the latest HyperScale software image before deployment.

Validation Checklist
Before proceeding with deployment, verify that:
- All nodes are running the same HyperScale software version.
- All nodes are running the currently supported HyperScale software version.
- Any outdated nodes have been re-imaged.
- Version validation has been completed on every node in the deployment.
