You can monitor generative AI applications installed on managed end-user laptops. The system automatically detects the presence of supported AI tools and captures metadata such as the tool name, installation path, and version.
The following AI agents are currently supported for detection:
- ChatGPT Desktop
- Claude Cowork
- OpenClaw
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Laptops.
The Laptop Overview page appears.

View the overall distribution of installed AI agents in the Detected AI agents chart.

To view details for specific laptops, on the Laptop Overview page, click the Laptops tab and perform one of the following tasks:
- In the Laptops listing page, view the Detected AI Agents column. To see the installation path and version of the AI tool, expand the row for the required laptop.
- Click a laptop to open its details page. View the Detected AI agents tile, which displays the name of the AI agent and the instance count.
The system automatically runs a scheduled check every 12 hours to detect newly installed or uninstalled AI tools on laptops.

To force an instant refresh and update the detected AI agents immediately, you can restart the Commvault services on the laptop client. Reinstalling or taking over a deconfigured laptop client also automatically triggers a fresh scan.

In the Laptops list, the AI Agents status is displayed as "Not detected" when the laptop is running Innovation Release 11.46 or later but no supported AI tools are installed, and "Not available" when the laptop is running a version earlier than Innovation Release 11.46.
