After you create a replication group during the guided setup, you can create additional replication groups in the Disaster Recovery environment. The replication group wizard includes only the values that are required to enable periodic or continuous replication.
Before You Begin
To use Distributed Storage datastores as destination sites for replication, you must set up Distributed Storage clusters as storage targets. For instructions, see Configuring Distributed Storage for DR.
Review the configuration options for the source and destination hypervisors, including options for adding a hypervisor, adding a recovery target, and configuring a replication group.
From the navigation pane, go to Disaster recovery > Replication.
The Replication groups page appears.
In the upper-right area of the tab, click Configure replication group, and then select Virtualization.
The Configure replication group page appears.
On the Content tab, enter the required information for the source hypervisor, and then click Next.
On the Target tab, enter the required information for the destination hypervisor, and then click Next.
On the Storage/Cache tab, enter the required information for the storage pool, and then click Next.
Check Use snapshot on source if you want periodic replication to be based on snapshots. With this option checked, you must also choose an option from the snap engine list. Virtual Server Agent Snap is the default. Then, in the Cache field, select a cache.
To override settings for VMs, on the Override options tab, click Yes.
On the Override options tab, either continue to the Summary tab or configure override options.
To change the destination settings for specific VMs, on the Override options tab, move the Override virtual machines toggle key to the right.
From the Replication configuration list, select the VMs, and then click Edit.
Under General Settings, Network settings, and IP address settings, configure the options you want to change.
To finish creating the replication group, click Next.
On the Summary tab, review the settings you configured, and then click Finish.
The configuration tool creates a replication schedule and a replication group that includes the selected source VMs.
The properties page for a replication group includes a Replication monitor page that you can use to monitor the replication status and to perform operations.
