Step 1: Before You Begin

Step 2: Install the CommServe and MediaAgent
Install the CommServe software on a Windows host. For instructions, see CommServe Installation.
If you want to install the MediaAgent on the CommServe host, select the MediaAgent package when you install the CommServe package.
If you want to use a separate host for the MediaAgent, install the following packages:
Step 3: Install the Commvault Packages on the Oracle VM Server
Install the MediaAgent and the File System packages on the Oracle VM server.
Before you begin the installation, follow these procedures:
Add a blank file to support the Oracle VM server. On the command line, type the following command:
touch /tmp/cvpkgadd_unlock_obsoleteplatform
Install the following packages:
Step 4: Install the Commvault Packages for the Proxy Server
Install the MediaAgent and the File System packages on the proxy server.
Before you begin the installation, install the OCFS tools package. On the command line, type the following command:
yum install ocfs2-tools
Install the following packages:
Step 5: Select the Storage Array
Make sure that you have the array credentials, and then select the storage array.

Step 7: Have a Custom Script Run on the Oracle VM Server
Configure an additional setting to run a script that scans the iSCSI storage targets.
To the Oracle VM client, add the additional setting as shown in the following table.

Step 8: Run the Check Readiness Report
Run a Check Readiness report to verify that the client and MediaAgent are connected to the CommServe computer and that the database agents are properly configured to run backup and restore jobs. For more information see, Check Readiness for File System Clients and Database Clients.
