Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS)

You can back up and restore data on the Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) cloud storage service by using the Linux File System agent.

If you use the UNIX File System agent to perform backups, the automount feature is not supported.

Backups You can Perform

  • Full backups

  • Differential backups

  • Incremental backups

  • Synthetic full backups

Data You Can Back Up

Regular files and directories, including the following, are backed up:

  • Regular data

  • Hard link

  • Soft link

  • Sparse files

  • Zip files

  • Unicode

  • Long path files

Supported NFS Versions

Amazon supports NFSv4.0, NFSv4.1, and later versions.

Limitations

Amazon EFS does not support certain features in NFSv4.0 and NFSv4.1. See Unsupported NFSv4.0 and 4.1 features in the AWS documentation.
