Backing Up OneDrive for Business Data

Updated

You can perform incremental backup operations and synthetic full backup operations for Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

Notes

  • While browsing, OneNote files (.one, .onepkg, .onetoc) created and synced from the OneNote for Business website is backed up only in the OneNote folder.

  • From feature release 22, only the changes made to the notebooks after the last backup job will be backed up incrementally. To back up all the OneNote items, run a full backup operation. This will also cause all the OneDrive items to get backed up again.

  • You cannot back up a copy of a notebook file, an empty notebook, or an empty section group file.

  • You cannot perform backup operations for a China tenant.
