Configuring the Job Start Time for a Server

Updated

You can configure the time of day that you want to initiate scheduled jobs for multiple servers in a server group. However, the jobs will start according to the local time zone of each server in the server group. For example, if you set the job start time as 10 AM for a server group with servers in both North America and Australia, then the backup jobs will start at 10 AM EST for the North American servers and at 10 AM AEST for the Australian servers.

If the job start time that you set is not within the time period that is set in the backup window or the full backup window for the associated plan, then the software considers the next available time within the window as the start time for backup jobs.

If you do not specify a job start time, then the software considers the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) settings of the plan that each server in the server group is associated with.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Server groups.

    The Server groups page appears.

  2. Click the server group that you want to configure a job start time for.

The server group properties page appears.

  3. Click the Configuration tab.

In the General area, by default the Backup job start time is set to System default.

  4. To configure a different job start time, click the edit icon, and then specify a new start time.
