Configuring Storage Options for Replication Groups

Updated

You can configure replication group storage locations to retain backed-up data for a specified period of time. A retention setting of 14 days or more is considered to be long-term retention.

If you configure storage retention as more than 14 days for a replication group, then license usage will be counted for both the DR VM license and other data protection license types that appear in the License Summary report.

You can configure data retention for both primary and secondary backup copies.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Disaster recovery > Replication.

    The Replication groups page appears.

  2. Under Group name, click a replication group.

    The Overview page appears.

  3. On the Configuration tab, in the Storage area, beside the storage location, click the action button action_button, and then select Edit.

The Edit backup destination dialog box appears.

  4. Beside Retention period, enter the amount of time you want the storage location to retain data, and then click Save.
