Data Views for the Infrastructure Load Report

The following table and charts display information about resources used by CommServe computers and MediaAgents in the CommCell environment.

Performance

The Performance table displays resource information about each selected CommServe computer and MediaAgent.

Column

Description

Client

The CommServe computer or MediaAgent where the resources are used.

Time

The date and time when the data was collected.

CPU Utilization

The percentage of CPU used by the CommServe computer or MediaAgent.

In case of a Linux computer, review the following considerations for CPU utilization:

  • The CPU utilization is calculated based on the average utilization of the cores. For example: For a 64-core computer, the software considers average from 100% utilization of all the 64 cores. When the CPU is overloaded, this value can temporarily cross 100.
  • The report presents the total load of the CPU rather than the utilization of each core.
  • The software uses CPU mainly for compression and encryption of backup jobs.
  • When creating a hardware skew for HyperScale, the CPUs are selected based on how much memory is supported.

Total Physical Memory

The amount of physical memory available on the CommServe computer or MediaAgent.

Physical Memory Used

The percentage of physical memory used by the CommServe computer or MediaAgent.

Total Virtual Memory

The amount of virtual memory available on the CommServe computer or MediaAgent.

Virtual Memory Used

The percentage of physical memory used by the CommServe computer or MediaAgent.

CPU

The CPU chart displays the percentage of CPU used by the CommServe computer or MediaAgent. You can view data for the previous 90 days.

The Physical Memory chart displays the percentage of physical memory used by each CommServe computer or MediaAgent over time. You can view data for the previous 90 days.
