Modifying a Disk Access Path

You can modify a disk access path associated with a disk storage.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Storage > Disk > disk_storage**.

    The Disk page appears.

  2. Click the disk storage that you want to modify the access path.

    The disk storage page appears.

  3. In the Backup locations section, click the backup location that you want modify.

    The Backup locations page appears

  4. In the General section, click the Path location.

    The Edit access path dialog box appears.

  5. Make the necessary changes. The following properties can be modified:

    • From the Access list, select the Read/Write or Read access types.

    • To set the disk access path, use one of the following options:

      • To use a local disk as the disk access path, click Local.

      • To use a network drive as the disk access path, click Network and then enter the User name and Password needed to access the backup location.

        To use a pre-defined credential, move the Use saved credentials toggle key to the right, and then select the pre-defined credential from the Name list.

        To add a new credential, click the + sign to create new credentials to access a network drive as described in Creating a New Credential to Access a Network Drive.

        Note

        Do not use administrative shares as a disk access path. For more information on administrative shares, see Removing Administrative Shares from Windows Servers.

    • Select the Enable option to enable the disk access path, or clear the option to disable the disk access path.

  6. Click Save to confirm the selections.
