Modifying the Oracle RAC Database Instance Details

You can modify the details of an Oracle RAC database instance.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Instances page appears.

2. Click the instance.

   The instance page appears.

3. In the General section, click Edit.

   The Modify instance details dialog box appears.

4. In the Database name box, type the name of the Oracle RAC database instance.

5. From the Plan list, select the server plan to use for the instance.

6. To use the Oracle catalog connect string, move the Use catalog connect toggle to the right, and then enter the Oracle catalog connect string.

7. Click Save to save the changes.

8. To add a RAC database instance:

   1. Click the Configuration tab, then click Add RAC instance.

      The Add RAC instance dialog box appears.

   2. Click OK.

      The new RAC instance appears under the RAC database instances list.

9. To update the Oracle Connect string for all the servers in the RAC database instance:

   1. Click Configuration, select one of the servers listed under the RAC database instances, then click Edit.

      The Edit RAC instance dialog box appears.

   2. In the Connect string box, type the Oracle Connect string.

   3. Click OK.

      The Connect string information for all the servers in the RAC database instance is updated.
