As a security method to control CommCell operations, you can assign specific permissions to client owners. This is useful for laptop clients, as each client has a different owner. In the case of the Edge Monitor tool, client owners need the Data Protection Operations permission in order to run backup jobs using the tool.
You can assign permissions for all client owners in the CommCell or for only the client owners of a particular client.
