You can view all the subclients associated with a storage policy and re-associate required subclients to a different storage policy. When you associate a subclient to a different storage policy, the subsequent synthetic full backups will run using the new storage policy. The synthetic full backup reads the data from the latest cycle on the old storage policy. As a result, you can recover the entire data using the synthetic full backup on the new storage policy.
You must re-associate all the subclients for a storage policy to a different storage policy in the following scenarios:

You want to disable a storage policy for backups

You want to delete a storage policy
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies | Storage Policies.

Right-click the appropriate storage policy, and then click Properties.

Click the Associated Subclients tab.
The list of all the subclients associated with the storage policy is displayed.

Select a subclient and click Re-Associate.
If you want to re-associate all the subclients to the same storage policy, click Re-Associate All.
The Storage Policy List dialog box appears.

From the Select storage policy to which all the subclients will be associated list, select a storage policy that you want to assign to the selected subclients.

Click OK.

In the Storage Policy Properties: <Storage Policy Name> dialog box, click OK.

Click OK.
