By default, the preselected backup type is incremental. However, you can change the preselected backup type.
After you change the preselected backup type, a full backup runs automatically before the new preselected backup type runs.
Note
If a preselected job fails or is killed during the Archive Index phase, the next job will convert to a full backup.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client.

Right-click Exchange Database, and then click Properties.
The Exchange Database Properties dialog box appears.

In the Backup Type area, select the appropriate backup type.

Incremental: Transaction logs are truncated by the Exchange server.

Differential: Transaction logs are not truncated.

Click OK.
The next backup that runs will be a full backup.
