As an administrator, you can use the Kill option to interrupt and commit backup jobs that are running for a long time or are in a pending state. Data that is committed is preserved and can be restored. For more information about controlling jobs, see Job Controller Overview.
Eligibility

You can commit a backup job when the backup job has multiple paths and at least one path has completed the backup process.

When you commit a backup job, all the paths from the backup job that have completed the backup process can be browsed and restored. Partially completed paths cannot be committed and will be backed up during the next incremental backup job.

You can terminate and commit a job when the job is running, suspended, pending, queued, or waiting.
Procedure

Open the CommCell Console.

In the CommCell Console ribbon, click the Home tab and then click Job Controller.
A list of the running backup jobs appears.

On the Job Controller tab, right-click the backup job and click Kill.

Click Yes to confirm the operation.
When the next backup job is performed, any data that was marked as failed for the original backup job is included in the next backup.
Result

On the Backup History tab, the job status changes to Committed.

In the Job Controller, the back job status changes to Interrupt Pending while the commit operation finishes. After the commit operation is complete, the job status changes to Committed.
