Configure the VMware vCenter in the CommCell Console

Updated

Once the Virtual Server Agent is installed on a computer or a virtual machine, create a vCenter client to connect to the virtual center. The vCenter client facilitates the backup of all the virtual machines in a vCenter.

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers node and select New Client | Virtualization | VMware vCenter.

  2. Enter the vCenter Host Name.

Enter the username and password associated with the Virtual Center.

Click Add to select a proxy for backup.

You can use an administrative user account on the vCenter for backup and restore operations. When you create a user account, it must have certain system privileges. For more information refer to Permissions for Custom User Accounts.

The list displays all the clients that have the Virtual Server Agent installed and all the client groups. You can select one or more clients or client groups. When you select a client group, ensure that at least one client in the group has the Virtual Server Agent installed.

    2. Click Include or Include All.

    3. Click OK.
