Create a New Sybase Server

Use this dialog box to create a new Sybase Server instance.

Server Name

Type the name of the Sybase Server. Use this space to change this name.

SA User Name

Type the name of the database administrator who has permissions to perform jobs. Use this space to change this name.

Account Password

Type the password for the SA User Name. Use this space to change this password.

Confirm Password

Retype the Account Password to confirm it.

Sybase Home

Type path for the Sybase application software. Click Browse to change this path.

Sybase ASE

Type the name of Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) server library which is usually located under the Sybase ASE server home directory.

Sybase OCS

Type the Sybase OCS (Open Client Server) environment variable which is usually located under the Sybase ASE server home directory.

Configuration File

Displays the path of the configuration file for the instance. Click Browse to change this path.

Shared Memory Directory

Type the path for the shared memory files which usually reside in the home directory. Click Browse to change this path.

Block Size

Specifies the number of bytes per I/O operation for a device. By default, the block size is not specified in the dump command and will use the Sybase server's default block size. Use dbBlockSize to specify the block size (overriding the default block size) for Sybase backup.

Storage Policies

Default Database Storage Policy

Click to select from a list of available storage policies that can be used in full and differential backup jobs for the databases added.

Local Administrator with Sybase sysadmin role

Displays the name of the User that has Local Administrator rights to administer the Sybase application. This is the account used for log in and use the application to run the jobs. Use this space to change this name.
