Device Controller Details

Use this dialog box to view the details of the device controller associated with the mount path.

MediaAgent

Displays the name of the MediaAgent that controls the library and the access type.

Local Path

Select this option to specify a local path in the MediaAgent computer.

  • Disk Device

    The local path of the disk storage area where the data will be stored. Click the Browse button to access to the Browse for Mount Path dialog box, which allows you to establish a local path in the MediaAgent computer.

Network Path

Select this option to specify a network path as the target share. (The Network Path button is unavailable for UNIX MediaAgents.)

  • Use saved credential

    Displays a list of credentials added using the Credential Manager in the Control Panel. If necessary, you can create a new credential by clicking the Create New button.

  • Enter Credential

    • Connect As

      The user name that will be used by the system to access the mount path.

    • Password

      The password for the specified user name.

    • Verify Password

      Confirmation of the password for the specified user name.

  • Folder

    The network mount path of the disk storage area where the data will be stored. Click the Browse button to access to the Browse for Mount Path dialog box, which allows you to establish a local path in the MediaAgent computer.

Edit Maximum Allowed Writers

These options are available only when the Access type is selected as Read/Write.

  • Maximum Allowed Writers

    Specifies the maximum number of concurrent writers on the mount path.

  • Allocate number of Writers

    By default, maximum number of concurrent writers are allocated on the mount path. To limit the number of writers, type the number of concurrent writers that you want to allocate.

Preferred

Select this option if you want to mark the MediaAgent as the preferred MediaAgent for the data transfer operations. This option is selected by default for the default MediaAgent that on which the library is configured.
