Enabling Encryption in the CommCell

You can enable encryption in the CommCell using the following procedures:

  • Encrypting network traffic at the CommCell level. This sets the communication tunnel protocol to HTTPS (encrypted) for all network routes.

For more information, see Encrypting Network Traffic at CommCell Level.

  • Enforcing automatic tunneling, and then encrypting automatic tunneling, for a client computer or client group.

For more information, see Enforcing and Encrypting Automatic Tunneling.

  • Encrypting backup data. Data encryption provides the ability to encrypt data both for transmission over non-secure networks and for storage on media. Commvault provides data encryption methods for software and hardware.

For more information, see Encrypting Backup Data.
