Enabling Integrity Checks for Microsoft Exchange Databases

To perform an integrity check for Microsoft Exchange databases during an application-aware backup, create the dwVSAExchangeIntegrityCheck additional setting.

Before You Begin

• This option applies only when running an IntelliSnap backup from the VSA subclient. Do not configure this additional setting if you are running streaming backups from the VSA subclient.

• Ensure that the VSA proxy used for the backup has Exchange management tools installed.

• If you are running application-aware backups for different versions of Exchange and performing integrity checks, configure a separate subclient for each version of Exchange, and use different proxies for each subclient. The version of Exchange management tools on each proxy must be aligned with the version of Exchange that the proxy is backing up.

Procedure

• To the Commvault client for the virtual machine that is running Exchange, add the dwVSAExchangeIntegrityCheck additional setting as shown in the following table.
