HyperScale Reference Architecture Node Configuration Checklist

Use this worksheet to record the host names and IP addresses required for Commvault HyperScale node installation and configuration.

Each node will require two host names; one host name for the public data protection VLAN and one host name for the private inter-node VLAN.

Note

* Note: There is a strict naming convention for the private VLAN host name. The host name must match the public VLAN host name but with an "sds" suffix. Example: Public host name is node1.domain.com then Private must be node1sds.domain.com.

Important

  • Check the hardware to make sure that the hardware is functioning properly, including the following:

    • Power supply

    • Fans

    • No failed hard drives

  • Firmware on all the HyperScale nodes are the same and match the latest firmware version provided by the vendor.Commvault does NOT test every firmware release and defers to the Original Equipment Manufacturer for recommended firmware levels.

  • All the nodes in the HyperScale Storage Pool must be located in the same data center within the same subnet.
