Source client
Select the client where you performed the backup.
Destination Client
Select the client where you want to restore the data.
backupSetName
Specify the backup set name that you used for the backup operation.
Restore Private authority (PVTAUT)
This option is only valid when the backup contains the private authorities. Select this option when you need to restore the private authority with the object.
The software does not select this option by default.
Restore Spooled file data (SPLFDTA)
Select this option to restore the spool files when you restore OUTQ objects.
The software selects this option by default.
Allow object differences (ALLOWOBJDIF)
Select this option to allow one of the following differences between the saved data and the restored data.
The software uses None as the default.
None
This is the default. Select this when there can be no difference between the saved data and the restored data.
*ALL
Select this option to allow all differences between the saved data and the restored data.
*COMPATIBILE
Select this option to allow differences that are compatible with the existing databases.
Note
This option is available only when the operating system is version V7Rx or later.
Other
Select this option to allow a combination of the following parameter differences:
*AUTL
Allow authorization list differences. This parameter only applies when the saved object has an authorization list. If the object exists, then the software restore the object with the existing object authorization list. If the object does not exist, the software restores the object with no authorization list.
The software selects this option by default.
*FILELVL
Allow file level ID and member level ID differences. The creation date and time of the database file on the system does not match the creation date and time of the saved file.
The software selects this option by default.
*OWNER
Allow file ownership differences. The creation date and time of the database file member on the system does not match the creation date and time of the saved member.
The software selects this option by default.
*PGP
Allow primary group differences. The primary group of an object on the system is different than the primary group of an object from the save operation.
The software selects this option by default.
Force Object Conversion
Select this option to convert the user objects to the format that the current operating system version requires or to be compatible with the current machine.
*SYSVAL
Select this option to convert the objects by using the QFRCCVNRST system value.
The software selects this option by default.
*NO
Select this option to prevent the user options from being converted.
*YES*RQD
Select this option to convert the user objects that must be converted to be compatible with the current machine.
*YES*ALL
Select this option to convert all the user objects.
Defer ID
Restore the logical files based on the physical files. You can specify a word, or a combination of letters and numbers. When the software restores the data, the system might skip the logical files because the physical files are not available.
When the software completes the restore, the software performs the restore operation again by using the RSTDFROBJ option and the Defer ID value.
Output option
Select this option to have IBM generate a report.
The software uses *NONE as a default.
*NONE
There is no output listing created for the restore.
The information is printed to the spool files.
*OUTFILE
The output is directed the database file that you specify in the Output file name box.
Output file
This is mandatory when you set the Output option to *OUTFILE. Use this box to specify the database file where the output of the restore is directed. If the file does not exist, the restore process creates a database file in this directory with the public authority that is the same as the specified library authority. If the file is created, the public authority of the file is the same as the create authority for the library where the file is created. The format of the file is:
<Library_Name>/<Database_File_Name>
Example: "QGPL/CVLRESTORE"
Output member
This is mandatory when you set the Output option to *OUTFILE. Use this box to specify the database file member where the output of the restore is directed. If the file does not exist, restore process creates a database file member in the specified database file.
Example: "John"
Replace or add records
Select whether the software adds or replaces records in the output file.
*ADD
If the database member exists, the restore process adds records to the end of the existing member.
*REPLACE
If the database member exists, the restore process clears the existing member and then adds records to the end of the existing member.
Type of output information
Specify the information that is printed or sent to the output file.
*OBJ
The list contains an entry for each saved object.
*MBR
The list contains an entry for each object, database file, and spooled file that was requested to be saved.
Copy precedence
If you want to restore from a copy, then specify the precedence number.
Restore data backed up before date
The software restores the data to the latest date by default. If you need to restore to a point in time, then specify the date.
Number of retries before failing
The number of times that the software retries the job when it detects a failure.
The software uses 3 as a default.
Delay between retry attempts
The number of minutes that software waits between retry attempts.
The software uses 5 minutes for the default.
