Library Properties (Status)

Use this dialog box to view the current status of the library and to enable or disable the library.

Status

  • Status

The status of the library. (Ready/Offline).

  • Enable Library

Select this option to bring the library online and make it available for use. Clear this option to take the library offline (e.g., for repairs). When a library is offline, the drives and media that it contains are inaccessible to the MediaAgent.

The library's enable status reflects its logical availability to the MediaAgent, not its physical availability. For example, a library can be enabled even if it is physically unavailable due to hardware failure.

  • Mark Library Offline for Maintenance

Select this option to make the library unavailable for data protection, data recovery or auxiliary copy operations. However, the library will be available to perform other administrative tasks such as Full Scan, Drive Cleaning, etc.
