Managing Clients in an Existing Network Topology

Updated

When you configure a network topology, you set up connections between client groups.

You can add or remove clients from a client group that was defined in a network topology.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computer Groups, right-click the client_group, and then click Properties.

  2. In the properties dialog box, add or remove clients from the client group, and then click OK.

    1. To add clients, select the clients from the All clients list, click Include >.

    2. To remove clients, select the clients from the Clients in this group list, click < Exclude.

  3. Push the network configuration in the following order:

    1. On the client that you added or removed from the client group.

      Notes

      • If you added or removed multiple clients from the client group, push the network configuration on the client group.

      • If you have a network topology for proxy connections, you must also push the network configuration on the Commvault proxy.

    2. On the MediaAgent (if any).

    3. On the CommServe computer.

For example, to push the network configuration on the CommServe computer:

    • From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe, and then click All Tasks > Push Network Configuration.

    • When the Warning dialog box appears, click Continue.

A notification appears indicating that the push network operation was successful. Click OK to close the notification.
