Migrate Tape Library

If you have a tape library, the library should be connected to the new MediaAgent.

Ensure that the appropriate drivers for the devices are loaded and that the operating system is able to identify the devices. For more information, see Driver Configurations.

Detect the devices and reconfigure the library.

1. On the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Expert Storage Configuration.

2. In the Expert Storage Configuration dialog box, under Available MediaAgents, select the old and new MediaAgents, and then click Add.

3. Click OK.

   A message appears that asks you to configure the library.

4. Click OK.

5. On the Expert Storage Configuration dialog box, click Start, and then click Detect/Config Devices.

6. Click OK.

   When the detection process completes, the log file appears.

7. Click Close.

   A message appears, that asks you to right-click the device to configure.

8. Click OK.

9. Right-click the library that you need to configure, and then click Configure.

10. In the Configuration dialog box, click Library and all drives, and then click OK.

    A message appears, that asks you if your library has a barcode reader.

11. Click Yes.

    The status of the library changes to configured.
