Modifying the Oracle Connect String for Oracle RAC Instances

You can modify the Oracle connect string for Oracle RAC instances. When you modify the connect string information for one client of a RAC database instance, the Commvault software automatically updates the connect string information for all the other clients in that RAC database instance.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client.

2. Right-click the instance, and then click Properties.

   The Modify Instance Property dialog box appears.

3. On the Details tab, select a client from the RAC Database Instances list, and then click Modify.

4. In the Connect String box, provide the user name, the user password, and the TNS service name.

   Note

   If you want to use an account other than 'sys', you must grant the SYSDBA or SYSBACKUP (in Oracle version 12 or a more recent version) privilege to the user account.

5. Click OK.
