Modifying a RedHat Virtual Server Instance

You can modify the RedHat Virtual Server instance properties to rename the instance, change the RHEV Manager name or credentials, and add or remove VSA proxies.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server.

  2. Right-click the RedHat instance, and then click Properties.

The Virtual Server Instance Properties dialog box is displayed.

  3. In the General tab, you can modify instance settings such as:

    • Instance Name (defaults to RedHat)

    • RHEV Manager (host name or IP address)

    • Click Change to modify user account credentials.

Provide credentials for a user account having administrative privileges for the data center.

  4. In the Proxies tab:

    • To include additional proxies, click Add.

The Select Clients/Client Groups dialog box is displayed.

Select one or more proxies from the Exclude list. Only proxies that match the type of the virtualization client are displayed.

The list displays all the clients that have the Virtual Server Agent installed and all the client groups. You can select one or more clients or client groups. When you select a client group, ensure that at least one client in the group has the Virtual Server Agent installed.

Click Include or Include All, and then click OK.

    • To remove a proxy, select the proxy name, and then click Remove.

    • To change the order of proxies, select a proxy, and then click the up or down icon.

The first proxy for a client acts as a coordinator to allocate jobs to other proxies.

  5. Click OK.
