Performing Incremental Backups for SnapMirror to Tape

In order the run incremental backups on an image backup set for SnapMirror to Tape, you must first run a full backup, and then run incremental backups. A SnapMirror to Tape incremental backup contains only data from changed blocks since the last backup, regardless of the type. Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

2. In the right pane, right-click subclient, and then click Backup.

   The Backup Options dialog box appears.

3. On theBackup Options tab, clickAdvanced.

   TheAdvanced Backup Options dialog box appears.

4. On the NAS Options tab, in Snapshot to Back-up box, enter the snapshot name, and then click OK.

5. Under Select Backup Type, click Full.

6. Under Job Initiation, click Immediate.

7. Click OK.

   Wait for the full backup job to complete.

8. From the CommCell Browser, go to client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

9. In the right pane, right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.

   The Backup Options dialog box appears.

10. On theBackup Options tab, clickAdvanced.

    TheAdvanced Backup Options dialog box appears.

11. On the NAS Options tab, in the Snapshot to Back-up box, type the snapshot name, and then click OK.

12. Under Select Backup Type, click Incremental.

13. Under Job Initiation, click Immediate.

14. Click OK.

    The incremental job runs according to your settings.
