Use this tab to configure advanced backup options.
Backup Options
-
Maximum Streams that can be used
The maximum number of streams for all nodes in your environment that are used to back up databases in parallel.
When the value is 1, VSS-enabled databases are backed up one at a time. When the number is greater than 1, databases are backed up in parallel on each node.
Backup Copy Options
-
Number of Data Readers
Use this space to specify the number of simultaneous backup data streams allowed for this subclient. For best performance, this should be set no higher than the number of physical drives that hold this subclient's data, except for specialized hardware such as RAID.
-
Allow multiple data readers within a drive or mount point
Specifies whether multiple data reads are allowed for a single Windows physical drive or Unix mount point during backups on this subclient. This should be selected only for specialized hardware such as RAID, or possibly in the case of spanned volumes.
Block Level Backup Options
-
Optimize for message level recovery
When this check box is selected, block-level backup is enabled where the database is backed up in multiple small blocks. This allows faster and more granular restores. After this option is enabled, the next backup is converted to full.
When this check box is cleared, the database is backed up using the standard method (that is, as one block).
Exclude from SLA and Strike Counts
When this option is selected, the subclient is excluded from the SLA (Service Level Agreement) calculation and the Client Strike calculation for the Worldwide Dashboard, CommCell Dashboard, SLA Report, and Client Strike Count Report. When this option is cleared, the subclient is included in these calculations.
