System Requirements for the Dell EMC Unity Storage Array

Before you configure your storage array, verify that your system meets the following requirements.

  • CIFS, NFS

    Support for the CIFS protocol and the NFS protocol is for network share backups only.

  • NDMP

    Snapshot cataloging and live browse operations are supported only if the Linux/UNIX shares (NFS) option or the Multiprotocol Shares (SMB and NFS) option is selected while creating the File System in the Dell EMC Unity Filer. Browsing from a backup copy is supported for File Systems created using NFS, SMB, or multiprotocol.
