Updating the Impersonate User Account for the Job Results Directory

You can change the user account used to access the Job Results Directory for Windows clients. The user account needs the following privileges to access the Job Results Directory:

  • Read/Write permissions to the product installation folders. If the specified user belongs to another domain, a trust relationship must be established between the two domains.

  • Full permissions (registry rights) to the following registry key: \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SOFTWARE\CommVault Systems.

  • If UNC paths are used for job results and subclient content, the user impersonation account must have access to both paths. For File System agents, user impersonation occurs only once, and the job results directory impersonation takes precedence and is used to back up the contents of the UNC path included in the subclient content.
