Prepare the new hardware before moving the Web Server database.
Procedure
-
Acquire the new hardware.
The hardware must meet the specifications in Hardware Specification for Web Server.
-
Determine the following:
-
Do you want to use the same computer name and IP settings?
We recommend that you use the same network details for the new Web Server computer.
-
Do you want to use a different computer name and IP settings?
Different network details do not affect the hardware refresh process. The Web Server software must be uninstalled from the old computer to reuse the license in the new computer.
-
-
Install the Operating System on the new computer.
For supported operating systems, see System Requirements - Web Server.
Note
If you plan to use the same network details, do not connect the new computer to the network. The computer can be connected later in the process, after shutting down the old CommServe computer.
-
Configure the Internet Information Services (IIS) on the new computer.
For instructions, see Configuring IIS Roles.
-
Verify that you have the latest Commvault software accessible to the new Web Server computer.
You can download the software by using the Download Manager. The Download Manager bundles an installation package with the software that you selected to download. The service pack files are also included in the package.
