Hedvig software is downloaded from the Commvault store. This section also describes the required OS versions, image files, and configuration files.
Procedure
-
Go to the Commvault store.
store.commvault.com
-
Search for and download the latest release of Hedvig. Each release consists of a zipped bundle that, once unzipped, contains two binary files:
-
hedvig_extract.bin
-
rpm_extract.bin
-
-
Hedvig software is supported on CentOS 7.x and RHEL 7.x (RHEL requires a valid subscription to RHEL normal and HA repos). In either case:
-
Install the minimal version of the OS on the storage cluster nodes.
-
If a physical storage proxy is used, install the minimal version of the OS on the physical storage proxy.
-
If a virtual storage proxy is used with CentOS, use the ova supplied.
-
If a storage proxy is used with RHEL, install the minimal RHEL, and attach the subscriptions to the satellite. A storage proxy image is not supplied for RHEL.
-
-
In addition to the Hedvig release, a deployment image and a storage proxy image for the platform are required, as follows:
-
ova for ESXi
-
qcow2 for KVM
-
vhdx for Hyper-V
Search for and download the Hedvig ESXi images, Hedvig KVM images, or Hedvig Hyper-V images.
-
-
An Ansible configuration file is required. Sample Ansible configuration files are in /opt/hedvig/samples on the Hedvig Deployment Server (after extracting hedvig_extract.bin).
Depending on your hardware configuration, you might also need a disk mapping file.
Before continuing, contact Commvault to validate your specific Ansible configuration file and to obtain a disk mapping file, if required.
