You can create an Amazon RDS virtualization client so that you can perform backup and restore operations on your Amazon RDS database instances.
Before You Begin
Amazon

Obtain an Amazon RDS account.

Determine the Amazon authentication method:

To use an access key, go to the Amazon IAM User Guide website, Managing Access Keys for IAM Users.

To use an IAM role, see the Amazon article, go to the Amazon IAM User Guide website, IAM Roles.

Create an Amazon RDS instance.

Configure the permissions to access AWS resources. For more information, see Amazon Web Services User Permissions for RDS Backups and Restores.
Procedure

In the CommCell Browser, right click Client Computers, and then click New Client > Virtualization > Amazon.
The Create Amazon Client dialog box appears.

Specify the client information. On the General tab, make the following selections:

In the Client Name box, type the Amazon RDS instance name.

From the Region list, select the region that is associated with the Amazon RDS instance.

Access and Secret Key

Select Access and Secret Key.

In the Access Key box, type the access key for the Amazon IAM user that has access to the Amazon RDS instance.

In the Secret Key box, type the secret access key for the Amazon IAM user that has access to the Amazon RDS instance.

Add a proxy server. Perform the following actions:

Under Proxies, click Add.
The Select Clients/Client Groups dialog box appears.

Under Exclude, select the proxy server that resides in the Amazon cloud, and then click Include.

Click OK.

Click OK.
