Perform a Restore
Perform a restore operation immediately after your first full backup to understand the process.
The following section explains the steps for restoring a database.

From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > client > Oracle.

Right-click the instance, then go to All Tasks > Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.
 - 
Select Latest Backup, and then click the View Content button.
 - 
Select the database, and then click the Recover All Selected button.
The Oracle Restore Options dialog box appears.
 - 
Click Restore in place, and then click Next.
The Oracle In Place Restore Options dialog box appears.
 - 
Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box appears.
 - 
On the Options tab, from the Reset Logs list, select None.
 - 
Select the Switch Database Mode for Restore check box.
 - 
Click OK.
 - 
To start the restore, click OK.
 - 
Monitor the progress of the restore job in the Job Controller.
 - 
Once the restore job has completed, right-click the agent and go to View > Restore History.
The Restore History Filter dialog appears.
 - 
Click OK.
 - 
You can right-click the job and view the following details:

View Restore Items
You can view them as Successful, Failed, Skipped or All.

View Job Details
 - 
View Events of the restore job
 - 
View Log files of the restore job
 - 
View paths
 - 
View RMAN Logs
 - 
Send Logs
 - 
Resubmit the Job
 
Once the database is restored, verify that the restored database and log files are available in the original location.
