Restoring Data Using the Web Console for Dell EMC VNX / Celerra Archiving

You can restore data or stubs to a different client computer from where it was backed up. However, restores to the same or different file server (UNC path) is not supported.

Procedure

  1. From the Web Console, click My Data.

  2. Click the Computers tab.

  3. Click the computer_name to open the Restore Files page.

  4. You can also click Show Details for the computer containing the data that you want to restore, and click Select Files in the Restore section.

  5. From the Restore Files page, navigate to the folder containing the data to be restored.

  6. Select the check boxes next to the data, and then click Restore to open the Restore Options dialog box.

  7. If your file is content-indexed, click on the file to view the contents in a preview window.

  8. In the Restore Options dialog box, clear the Restore to Original Computer check box and select a computer from the Destination Computer list.

  9. Next to the Destination Path box, click the folder icon to define the destination path.

  10. From the Select Restore Destination Path dialog box, find the folder and then click Select.

  11. Click Restore Now.

    To track the progress of the restore job, click the job ID from the top of the page. This will take you to the computer summary page, where you can see the progress in the Current Restore Status box under the Restore section.
