Adding a Credential to a Built-in Credential Vault

You can add a credential to access:

  • a network drive that you want to assign as a mount path to a disk library or a cloud library

  • a file server

  • a database server

  • a virtualization hypervisor

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Security.

    The Security page appears.

  2. Click the Credential vault tile.

    The Manage credentials page appears.

  3. From the upper-right corner of the page, click Add.

The Add credential dialog box appears.

  4. From the Account Type list, select the type of account that you want to create the credential entity for.

    • Windows Account

    • Linux Account

    • SQL Server Account

    • Storage Array Account

    • Cloud Account

    • NDMP Account

A NetApp C-Mode file server may have both an NDMP Account and a Storage Array Account. The NDMP Account password is the NDMP password generated on the file server. Run the generate-password command on the file server to obtain an NDMP password. For more information, see the NetApp documentation for your file server.

  5. Enter the access information for the account.

For information about the access information for each account type, see Information by Account Type.

  6. In the Description text box, enter a description for the credential.

  7. Click Save.
