Adding an IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) File Server

Add or modify an IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) file server to manage your data.

When you add a filer server, an instance, and a default subclient are automatically created.

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The File servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right area of the page, from the Add server list, select IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS).

    The Add IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) page appears.

  3. In the Name box, type a name for the server.

  4. In the Access Nodes box, click Add, and then select the access nodes that will be associated with the instance.


    For optimal sharing of the backup load, the number of data readers must be equal to or greater than the number of access nodes. The default setting is to set the set number of data readers equal to the number of access nodes.

  5. From the Plan list, select a server backup plan.

  6. Click Save.
