Platform version releases include patches and updates to RHEL and Commvault File System required for HyperScale X.
Example of Platform Version Names
The platform version name is a combination of the HyperScale generation, followed by the release date in a year-month format. For example, 2.2108 indicates that the necessary updates are up-to-date as of August 2021 as follows:

2. to indicate that it is the 2nd generation of HyperScale, which is HyperScale X.

2108 to indicate the year and month in which the updates were released.

Commvault has worked with Red Hat to provide Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) for all Commvault customers using HyperScale X 2.x running RHEL 7.9 until June 30th, 2025. You must migrate HyperScale X running on RHEL 7.9 to HyperScale X platform version 3.x prior to this date.
