Recover Mailbox Items from an Exchange Database Block-Level Backup

Applies to: Exchange 2010 or a more recent version, in a DAG environment

After you perform a block-level backup of an Exchange database, You can recover a mailbox, a mailbox item (such as a folder, a public folder, a contact, or a calendar entry), or an individual message.

Note

You can use this recovery method for mailbox databases only.

Procedure

To recover messages from a block-level backup of an Exchange database, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a recovery point.

  2. List the recovery point to recover messages.
