Resetting the Secret Key for Two-Factor Authentication

If your secret key for two-factor authentication is lost or compromised, you can reset it. To reset the secret key of other users, you must have the User Management permission.

In a managed service provider (MSP) environment, a tenant administrator can reset the secret key.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Security.

    The Security page appears.

  2. Click the Users tile.

    The Users page appears.

  3. In the row for the user that you want to reset the secret key for, click the action button actions button***use the other one ->86655***, and then click Reset secret key.

    A message appears saying the secret key has been reset successfully.

What to Do Next

  • If you reset your secret key, the next time when you log on to the Command Center, CommCell Console, or the Web Console, a QR code and a new secret key appear on the login page.

  • If you reset the secret key for someone else, communicate the following to the user:

    • The secret key has been reset.

    • When the next time the user logs on to the Command Center, CommCell Console, or the Web Console, a QR code and a new secret key appear on the login page.
