Running a Disaster Recovery Backup (Fully Managed Deployments)

Run a disaster recovery backup to protect the Commvault databases and enable recovery of the CommServe host.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.

   The System page appears.

2. Click the Maintenance tile.

   The Maintenance page appears.

3. Click the DR backup (Daily) tile.

4. Click the Run job icon .

   The DR options page appears.

5. Select the Full backup type to back up the entire metadata.

6. If sufficient space is not available on the CommServe host, to compress the database backup file (*.dmp), select the Enable database backup compression check box.

   Note

   Do not select the Enable database backup compression option for Microsoft SQL Server Express Editions, which is installed with the Commvault Express Editions.

7. Click Run job.

8. To monitor the job, click View job details or, from the navigation pane, go to Jobs.
