Archiving Rules for Hadoop Data

Archiving rules specify the criteria for the type of data to be archived. For a file to get archived, it has to meet all of these rules or criteria. You can configure these rules on a requirement basis.

  • File System Size

  • File Access Time

  • File Modified Time

  • File Size

File System Size

You can archive backed up files based on the available free space on the volume; if the free space on the volume is less than the value specified, files matching the remaining archiving rules are archived.

For more information about configuring the file system size rule, see Configuring File System Size Rule.

File Access Time

You can archive files based on the last accessed date of each file in the volume or directory. If the last accessed time of files is more than the number of days specified, the files are archived.

For more information about configuring the file access time rule, see Configuring File Access time Rule.

File Modified Time

You can archive files based on the last modified date of each file in the volume or directory. If the last modified time of files is more than the number of days specified, the files are archived.

For more information about configuring the file modified time rule, see Configuring File Modified Time Rule.

File Size

You can archive files based on the file size. If the file size on the volume or directory is greater than the size specified, the files are archived.

For more information about configuring the file size rule, see Configuring File Size Rule.
