Changing the Proxy ESX Server for a VMware Instance (VMware command line)

Use the command line to change the Proxy ESX Server for a VMware instance.

Before You Begin

• To update the Proxy ESX Server for an instance, download the update_instance.xml file and save it on the computer where the command will be executed.

Procedure

1. Log in to the CommServe host using the qlogin command.

2. Execute the following command from the software_installation_directory/Base folder after substituting the parameter values.

   qoperation execute -af update_instance.xml -entity/clientName 'xxxxx' -entity/appName 'Virtual Server' -entity/instanceName 'xxxxx' -esxServerToMount 'xxxxx'
