From the Commvault VTL 2.0 Web Management Interface, create a virtual tape library (VTL).
Procedure

From the navigation pane, click Virtual Libraries.
The Configured VTLs page appears.

Click Add VTL.
The Add VTL dialog box appears.

In the VTL Name box, enter the name for the VTL.

From the Library Vendor list, choose IBM.

From the Library Type list, choose IBM System Storage TS3100.

From the VDrive Type list, choose IBM 3580 Ultrium6.

From the Number of VDrives list, specify the number of drives.

In the Number of VSlots box, enter the number of storage slots to emulate.
The maximum number of storage slots is 60000 per VTL.
Note
The number of slots determines the maximum number of cartridges that can be added to a VTL. Therefore, it is recommended that you add more number of slots than the cartridges that you plan to add to the library.
If necessary, configure additional options as described in Add VTL.

Click Submit.
The VTL Information page appears.
A list of drives that were added appear in the VDrive Information section.

Click Modify VTL.
The Modify VTL dialog box appears.

Click Deduplication, and then, from the Deduplication block size list, select 4K.
The deduplication block size must be set to 4K.

Click Submit.
What to Do Next
