Creating a Proxy Client for Azure Data Protection

After you install the UNIX File System Agent, configure the proxy client to facilitate the native database backup operations and restore operations.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, and then click New Client.

    The Add New Client dialog box appears.

  2. Click Unix.

    The New Unix Client dialog box appears.

  3. In the Client Name box, type the name of the new UNIX client.

  4. In the Host Name box, type the full interface name of the computer.

    For example, mycomputer.mydomain.mycompany.com.

  5. Click Next >.

  6. Click Finish.

  1. Determine your Azure connection options and complete any necessary firewall configuration. For more information, see Azure Database Connections.

  2. Install the Virtual Server Agent on the proxy, and then configure the Linux proxy options. For more information, see Configuring the Proxy Server for Azure Database.
