Moving DDB Partitions on a Disk to Another MediaAgent

You can use the Move DDB Partitions workflow to move specific or all the deduplication database (DDB) partitions from a DDB disk hosted on one MediaAgent computer to another MediaAgent computer.

Before You Begin

Download and deploy the Move DDB Partitions workflow. For instructions, see Downloading and Updating Workflows from the Commvault Store and Deploying a Workflow.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Workflows.

2. Right-click Move DDB Partitions, and then click All Tasks > Execute to run the workflow.

   The Move DDB Partitions Options dialog box appears.

3. From the Run workflow on list, select the workflow engine to use to execute the workflow.

4. From the Source MediaAgent list, select the MediaAgent from which you want to move the DDB partitions.

5. From the Destination MediaAgent list, select the MediaAgent to which you want to move the DDB partitions.

6. From the Source DDB Disk list, select the DDB disk on the source MediaAgent that you want to move.

7. For Move Type, select one of the following options.

   • Move all DDBs: Select to move all the partitions hosted on the source DDB disk.

   • Move selected DDBs: Select to move only specific partitions hosted on the source DDB disk.

8. In Destination DDB Disk, enter the DDB disk on the destination MediaAgent to which you want to move the partitions.

9. If you selected Move selected DDBs for the Move Type, another window appears.

   1. In DDB Partitions, select the partitions that you want to move.

10. Click OK.
