Network Share

The Network Share IntelliSnap Backup protects and recovers file server data with Common Internet File System (CIFS) shares and Network File System (NFS) exports using the Windows File System agent to back up CIFS shares, or the UNIX File System agent to back up NFS exports mounted on a given proxy computer.

For snapshot backups, use one of the following:

  • For UNC paths, you can use the snapshot backup feature on data in Windows file system agents under NAS clients.

  • For NFS exports, you can use the snapshot backup feature on data in UNIX file system agents under NAS or UNIX clients.

The Network Share IntelliSnap Backup is supported with the following storage arrays:

  • Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale

  • Dell EMC Unity

  • Hitachi NAS

  • Huawei

  • NetApp (7-Mode and C-Mode)

Note

Starting in Commvault Platform Release 2023 (11.30), for Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale, Changelist scan is automatically enabled for newly created sub-clients. If you want to enable changelist scan for old sub-clients, contact Commvault support.
