CommCell instances are the structure that identify and manage Oracle databases. You can use a new or existing instance to archive the Oracle data. If you do not have any configured Oracle Instances, see Instances for Oracle for how to add or discover an instance.
You must configure an instance and enable archiving on that instance for both the production and archive instances.
